HELLO i am Koh Cheng Jin. I am currently turning 15 this year. I am a girl, from SOTA's MUSIC FACULTY :D and SNYO's V2/V1.I love God and Life, and friends are very important to me. I love Beethoven and Plum blossom too. Plum blossom thrives in winter, and I admire their endurance, like those of Beethoven's. :)

Current favourite composers:

Mozart: Music that allows my soul to wander around, (joyful music) always never fail to put make me happy, (dark music) never fail to make me ponder about Mozart's other character which is not commonly seen.
Beethoven: Music that allows me to know him better, and to see how music is the best form of expression that should be hold in high reverence.
Tchaikovsky: Music that allows me to realise that...life= music, and romantic music are not always mushy like korean dramas' music. It can be dark too.
Bach: Music that (similar to Mozart) allows me to experience a roller-coaster ride and being in a forest with polyphonic animal/nature sounds.

HAPPY OLD YEAR!!!

2011 is ending. Here’s list of people whom I want to thank.

Dad and Mom: Baba Mama, thanks for all you’ve done for this lazy daughter of yours. I’m really grateful for your investments into me and for harboring high hopes for me even though things may turn out unexpected. Thank you for all your patience and your guidance! Mom, sorry for annoying you often with my bad habits such as anyhow leaving the piano keyboard’s cloth on the ground (habit since young, hard to change) and always staying up late to use the laptop; and dad, just to say, I enjoy taking walks with you. I promise, I’ll repay all my gratitude to you all in appreciation of what you’ve done for me. <3 Happy new year and I’m glad to have you all by my side.

Sun Ping Yu: Yo fellow Anda, you’re such a responsible and reliable friend! Really grateful for your help and your constant reminders when I’m being clumsy..etc. Traveling to Yunnan and Taiwan with you has been one of the greatest excitements and pleasures in my life. It’s a little weird not seeing your spongy ball profile picture..Anyway, you’re so hardworking! I can still picture you with math assessment books. You’re really good(in fact, you’re way beyond excellent) in math and you must must be a part-time/full-time mathematician when you’re grown up! Or have something to do with math when you’re an adult.. I still remember the times when you’re so violent and kept hitting me. You have a talent in strength too…seriously, someone as tiny as you could have so much strength instilled upon your muscles. And I want to tell you that your face is more funny and epic than mine ok??So don’t always laugh when you see me..makes me wanna laugh at you when I see you..YOU…HAHAHA. I’ll miss being in the same class as you lah(I admit) because everytime I turn around in class I see YOU and I also see YOU in my mac’s screen reflection and then my eyes will bulge out and you’ll start cracking up and I’ll start laughing again..Effect of YOU. I love our emails that begin and sometimes end with chain of HAHAHAHAs. I could still remember in year one when you were extremely quiet and introverted..and now…a complete different person haha. Okay, my thanking list is done. I've already thanked the teachers in one of my previous blog posts(that's posted after sch's ended). So tired phew..hope I didn't miss out anyone that played a major role in my life..

2011's been an extremely challenging year! Full of obstacles.

phew. I've done all of them, except the year end assessment. I love challenges and 2011 has really really challenged me to my bone. Stick and stones actually can't really break my bones(who came up with that silly quote??Bones are much stronger, especially our hip bones, it's even stronger than concrete, no kidding) but it can tear my flesh. I won't let them break my bones. My bones are my strongest and most solid foundation. The wounded flesh is the my boundary which I dared not thread upon. But challenges allowed me to!

2011 is also a year which I started composing. I've gotten really close to music and really started to appreciate music. I thank God for all the opportunities presented to me and my acquaintance with people who are into music composition as well. It really helped to broaden my own perspectives.

2012 will also be full of obstacles, starting in the very first month January. And then it progresses. Ohman, wish me luck. There'll be another NAC competition and if I'm joining, i hope i can attain an achievement. Cross fingers.

B2'2012, look forward to a year of learning journey with you guys!

P.S I love 2011. And I know I will love the years ahead too. Getting older.

Sad fact: Parents are aging. But they'll be forever young at heart. hehe

Sigh.
School's starting in less than 10 days..8 days I mean.
Factual reality.
I haven't done my arc and math homework.
I haven't practised yangqin for so long already..have been focusing on other things..
next year will be a new year with new classmates, new challenges, new obstacles, new learning journey.

B2'2012.

Honestly, I don't really know majority of the ppl in B2.
The only person I'm quite close to is Almira. Relatively.
The rest...
Great. I must be independent next year. I'm rather glad that Clancy's still in the same class as me. She's been my inspiration and role model for 2011. I really admire her learning attitude! Fighting! And competitive.

I like people who are competitive.
I've gotta admit, my friends are the ones indirectly encouraging and motivating me to do better. They have a better influence on me than some teachers.
Because there's competition.
I know myself, and I know I'm a competitive person.
I like challenges, I like competitions, I like races, I like marathons, I like olympics, I like matches, i like Gladiator fights, I like all the things that challenge limits.

Limits.

Competitions reveal our limits.

Seeing my friends do better than I do in some subjects make me reflect on my own limits.
We all have limits, this fine line that we dare not thread upon and over
This motivates me to challenge myself, with the mentality "Since they can do better, why can't I?" It gives me a goal, a target, to strive to, to push myself to, to break, and to score.

The feeling's really great.
And then in the next test you realised you've improved, you've gotten a score that you've never imagined you could get,
you know you've broken free from the initial boundary you've set upon yourself.

With competitions come comparisons.
It's practical to compare yourself to other standards, to see where you are standing, see how you're doing. Estimating your position. On a battlefield.
This is human nature.
It's okay to compare, but it's the attitude that affects your morality.
Don't underestimate other people. Don't overestimate yourself. This should be the right attitude when you've won a competition.

When you've lost? When you've done worse than you've expected?
Don't underestimate other people. Underestimate yourself. You'll realise your weakness and you'll change for the better.
Never overestimate yourself.

Never.

2012 will not be such a competitive year as 2011.Competitions are fiery, they are merciless. It's "You do well and BAM you win. You don't and that is it."
Straightforward.
One-way flight. No return ticket.

That's the spark of competition. The ultimate gist of it. That's what makes competition so..
attractive.

Btw I've found my motto in life.

"Allegro ma non troppo".
"Fast but not too fast."

Think before one act.

On a lighter note, Merry christmas.

May 2012 be a wonderful year for all ahead.

“愛相隨"-吳喬.

台灣深度文化之旅：

台灣學伴柯憓茹對我真好！每天在巴士上都跟她坐，和她一起坐校車上學，讓她教我台語，和她一起聽我們倆的MP3, 讓我認識了不少流星歌曲（通常不是我的樣兒）！她父母真好，把我當成自己的女兒一樣，那麼關心我！

九天匆匆的咻過去了，似七星潭的風掛著，從我耳側呼嘯而過。
在這九天，我真的感到無比的開心。我每年六月都有來台灣，但這次的深度文化之旅讓我重新體驗和認識台灣！看盡了台灣的美，感受到了台灣濃厚的人情味，獨坐海邊的石壇上讓風熱情的擁抱我，抬起頭楊著眼望著夜空明亮的星辰，品嘗台灣食標臭豆腐(我可是初次品嘗哦！），好不歡樂啊！

美－是個說不清楚的形容詞。

風景，朋友，老師，體驗，感受，飲食，景點，人情，都那麼美。他們一一像紅磚一樣砌成了最堅固，最高，最溫暖的屋宇。那屋宇沒有門，裡邊的愛洶湧澎湃的像潮汐一樣流進，流出，化成了美好的回憶，隨時隨地都可回味。

台灣好美，真是好山，好水，好人情。

最令我難以淡忘的，就是放天燈的那時刻。老天雖下著細雨，我們每一組的天燈仍然能往上飄，往外飛，把我們每一個人的獨白，心願，心事，都傳遞給宇宙，彷彿揭開了我們心中的吶喊。告訴上天，我們是浩瀚無比的。告訴全世界，我們會幹勁十足往前衝，了得我們心目中的志願和人生的目標。

前天，我們熱淚盈眶，因為九天內的斑駁要告一段落了。記得在更前一天晚上，我們以笑聲取代了眼淚，在飯店的床上，情不自禁的哈哈大笑，就是因為我們每個人的笑聲太好笑了，所以接著笑聲就絡繹不絕了。那是我和學伴憓茹，嘉敏，和她學伴涵嘉的最後一晚（我真的不想填進“最後”著兩個殘忍的字）。

回到了前天，我和憓茹擁抱了快十妙。我從來沒有和一個人擁抱那麼久過。那，是我人生最美的10妙，最美的擁抱，最美的回憶。
