The One And Only Koh Cheng Jin.
HELLO i am
Koh Cheng Jin. I am currently turning 15 this year. I am a girl, from
SOTA's MUSIC FACULTY :D and
SNYO's V2/V1.I love God and Life, and friends are very important to me. I love Beethoven and Plum blossom too. Plum blossom thrives in winter, and I admire their endurance, like those of Beethoven's. :)
Current favourite composers:
Mozart: Music that allows my soul to wander around, (joyful music) always never fail to put make me happy, (dark music) never fail to make me ponder about Mozart's other character which is not commonly seen.
Beethoven: Music that allows me to know him better, and to see how music is the best form of expression that should be hold in high reverence.
Tchaikovsky: Music that allows me to realise that...life= music, and romantic music are not always mushy like korean dramas' music. It can be dark too.
Bach: Music that (similar to Mozart) allows me to experience a roller-coaster ride and being in a forest with polyphonic animal/nature sounds.

A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give. ~Author Unknown

---Music plays Mozart's Requiem: Recordare-----
Today, 7 September, is the MOST important day of this year.
I pray that it will be successful. Dear God, please help.
I really want to go there. Even though I only started out this year, specifically in March, I do hope that I will still be able to go there.
This is not a 三分中熱度.
In 10 working days, it'll reach there.
Within a month, the dove will fly here with news.
I sincerely hope it turns out positive.
I can't raise my hopes too high either. The higher the hopes, the higher the disappointment.
I can only say,
"Voca me cum benedictus"!
Amen.
Love, cheng jin.

I've been thinking a lot lately. Maybe the time off from school actually allows me to think more about other things in life.
Recently I'm really addicted to Mozart. Especially his Sonata for Two Pianos in D major, k 448. Listening to it just gives me sheer delight.
People say Mozart's music is too predictable. But I don't really think so, as cranky as he was, Mozart's music always strikes me as a jack-in-a-box full of delightful surprises. It creates this sort of magical feeling that allows my mind to run free and fly. Can't really explain through words. And coming across all the music I've heard so far, Mozart's music never fail to put a smile on my face! He weaves a simple thread into different designs, including flowers...leaves...roots...
And when I google "Mozart", things such as "Mozart for Babies"/"Mozart music for children.." pop out. Other people may say: "hah, that means Mozart's music can only be understood by children". However, what I can say is, Mozart's music is so pure and innocent that only children can understand.
And to whoever who says his music is too predictable, I tell you, you haven't listened to Mozart yet(his Requiem, Mass, Funeral March, Adagio and Fugue, Piano Concertos..= Predictable?! it's not just V-I and I-V you know.)
-----------
Also, I got to know this pianist called Mitsuko Uchida. She is currently my favourite interpreter of Mozart. Listening to her makes me feel Mozart's presence. Really..the way she plays the music. Nobody I know plays like her, and it gives me a feeling I've never experienced before. Listen to her play Mozart's piano concertos, notably the one where she conducts(Piano concert no. 20). She truly makes the piano sing.
The end.
And perhaps I shall sign off after every post lol.
What should i sign off as...
Hmm...
Ah...
I'll just put...
